UA Console Tempo sync with MIDI Note Send

First off, hello to all. I'm new to the group and I'm looking forward to participating!

I'm guessing that this may be related to the proposed "U-SYNC sending MIDI notes in time" feature but here goes anyway.

In order to sync tempo, UA Console needs to see MIDI Note data. At least 4 events. Is there a way for the NOME to send note events on the beat or even CC's (I can convert them to Note messages in MIDI Pipe)

Interesting use case, you’re right, this is quite close to the idea of having U-SYNC (or the Nome in general) generate timed MIDI events.

At the moment, the Nome doesn’t send MIDI notes or CCs as clock pulses, it sticks to standard MIDI clock / transport. So what you’re describing isn’t directly possible yet. That said, generating note or CC pulses on the beat is definitely something we can consider for a future update.

We’ll keep this in mind as we expand sync-related features.

Thanks for the reply and great to hear that stuff like this is always being worked on. I have a workaround for now using note events from a Digitakt but in the future, this would be most welcome indeed!
It would be interesting to be able to set divisions, similar to the setup for the CV out. Being able to send tap tempo information to a number of sources with the ability to define 1/4, 1/2, dotted 8th etc. would pretty cool!

Nice, that sounds like a solid workaround for now. We’ll definitely keep this in mind
